Innovation and Investment Provisional 188 Visa
The Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) allows individuals to set up and maintain a new or existing business in Australia or to make investment in Australia.
To migrate under this category, you will first need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through Skill Select and then a nomination from an Australian state or territory government or an Australian agency and an invitation to apply from the Immigration department.
The visa has four streams:
Business Innovation stream is meant for people having business skills and wish to establish, develop and manage a new or existing business in Australia and are nominated by a state or territory government.
The Investor stream allows individuals to make a designated investment of at least AUD1.5million in a state or territory and manage their business and investment activity in Australia. The applicant should have been nominated by a state or territory government.
Significant Investor stream is meant for individuals who are willing to invest at least AUD 5 million into a business in Australia and has a valid nomination from a state or territory or Austrade.
The Premium Investor stream is meant for people or individuals who are ready to make an investment of at least AUD 15 million into a premium investment in an Australian business with an aim to maintain a business & investment activity in Australia. The applicant also needs a nomination from Austrade on the governments behalf.
Permanent Business Innovation and Investment Visas (888)
The Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) is the second stage of the Business Innovation (188) visa. To migrate under this visa category, you need to have a nomination from a state or territory government or Austrade on the governments behalf. If you are already on a subclass 188 visa, then you just have to show evidence of nomination from the government entity, who nominated you.
Business Talent Permanent (Subclass 132) Visa
Business Talent visa is a part of Australian Business Program which aims at expanding the Australian economy. This visa is available by invitation only. Before being invited to apply, you must first submit an Expression of Interest through Skill Select specifying, the business stream you are interested in, whether Significant Business History stream or the Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream. You must also indicate whether you are interested in just one or all states and territories. When your Expression of Interest is in Skill Select, it can be viewed and a state or territory can decide whether to nominate you to apply for a visa. States and territories have their own criteria for deciding who they nominate. In most cases, and before you are nominated, the relevant state or territory will contact you to discuss business possibilities.
The Business Talent visa(subclass 132) has two streams:
The Significant Business History stream is for affluent owners or part owners of a business who want to have a major management role in a new or existing business in Australia.
The Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream is for people who have obtained at least AUD 1 million in funding from an Australian venture capital firm.
